The Knitty Kitty was born from our Kitsch project. Not only is it a knitting kit for crazy cat ladies, it's a special "pussy hat" edition to promote women's rights. I created a cat paw pattern and utilized a knitting image to help give the packaging texture which allowed the flatter images to stand out. The colors originally were a softer blue but with the special edition, I wanted pussy hat pink to catch customers attention. As a final touch, I added stitching lines into the star bursts that echo the logo, as well as to tie in the knitting and sewing genre.
